Mission

Empowering women and girls to struggle against discrimination, for their rights and gender equality. Build their capacity to advocate for human rights and children protection, develop their abilities to have potential access to economic and social opportunities. Take part in social, cultural and political process, and equip them to defend and protect the rights of women, children and gender equality norms.

Values

Gender Equality: WCLRF believes on gender equality including empowering Afghan women and girls in line with national strategic priorities and international conventions, and advancement of women and girls to achieve their human rights and meaningfully participate in public decision-making process, and political space including social and cultural commitment to contribute for the development of community.

Mutual respect: WCLRF believes on the culture of openness and acceptance in organizational and operating surrounding. For WCLRF mutual respect means that everyone/ every organization is valued considering their knowledge, views and contribution they bring to the organization and community. Hence, WCLRF concedes that mutual respect is the basis of trust building, honesty, and better communication and establishing meaningful partnerships among constituencies, partners and stakeholders.

Non-Discrimination: WCLRF aims to ensure that women and children rights are exercised without any kind of discrimination and violence based on race, language, ethnicity, national origin, religions, and gender, political and or other views. WCLRF has zero tolerance relevant to any kind of discrimination either internally in its operations or externally in provision of services and programmes. Through the proposed interventions, WCLRF is dedicated for elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against Afghan women and children and ensuring the women meaningful participation in public and political space, access to justice, social and economic resources.

Action-oriented: WCLRF is anticipating, for taking practical steps in the ground toward achieving the designated goals and implementation the designed strategies and interventions to move closer its mission, vision.

Child protection & Rights: WCLRF respects the rights of children, and is committed to contribute in protection of children from violence. Hence, we hope that our children have access to basic level of services, and are safe, and live in free of abuse and exploitation.

Trust and commitment: WCLRF concede that building trust and commitment to the value and work of organization are two critical components, which directly and indirectly influence the performance of the organization. In the context of WCLR, trust means the confidence of staff, management, Board, beneficiaries and stakeholders, so, for durable existence this confidence needs to be intensified, while commitment further ensures the improvement of long-term relationship with stakeholders i.e., beneficiaries, partners and donor community.

Human Rights/women rights: We believe that human rights are women rights. Hence, WCLRF pursue its work in right-based approaches and in a manner that accountable to the established national, international laws, and conventions that guide the principles of gender equality, non-discrimination, public participation and decision-making process.

Tolerance and coexistence: WCLRF believe that tolerance and peaceful coexistence is vital factor for communities’ development, while tolerance enabling the environment for communities to coexist peacefully. In the working context of WCLRF tolerance and coexistence means respecting each other, recognize the rights of other, acceptance of other groups legitimacy and equal rights and commonly to work together to improve coherence, culture and prevent communal conflicts.

Transparency and accountability: WCLRF is committed to maintain transparency and dynamic accountability (downward and upward accountability) in its operations and programmes. Hence, WCLRF is aiming to ensure transparency in due course of quality service delivery through responsibly use of resources, and being responsible for its activities, as well being accountable at all level for staff, beneficiaries, partners, state and donor agencies.
